BS Medical Technology - 04 Years Programme
Ziauddin University laid the foundation of College of Medical Technology in 1998, which initially offered Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (B.Sc. in MT). Since then, it has successfully enrolled sixteen batches but recognizing the growing challenges and the student’s requirement, Ziauddin University initiated the BS program in Medical Technology in March 2011.
The mission of BS MT commits to instill technical competencies, orientation to research andreadiness for long life learning by utilizing integrated curriculum, andragogy and standardized Assessments to ever-evolving health care systems.
BS Medical Technology is a four-year semester-based program. Admissions are announced once in a year. Candidates with minimum 45% marks in Pre-Medical, Medical Technology, Intermediate Science Pre Engineering, Intermediate Arts, General Science Group and equivalent from recognized boards/authorities are encouraged to apply. A Level applicant is required to produce IBCC verified equivalence for enrollment in the program.

Enrolled candidates are assessed and examined for theory and skills with periodic examinations. Continuous assessment is practiced incorporating multiple summative and formative assessments to measure the extent to which students have achieved the desired outcome. It includes continuous assessments, projects, portfolios, clinical practicum and competencies
Medical Technologists scientists collaborate very closely with physicians and medical technologist technicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease processes, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of therapy.
Medical Technologists scientists have a huge demand both nationally and internationally. Â

The BS in Medical Technology programme prepares students to become highly skilled professionals in the medical laboratory sciences. Upon successful completion of the 4-year programme, graduates will be able to:
Perform Diagnostic Testing: Conduct a range of laboratory tests, including clinical chemistry, haematology, microbiology, and immunology, to support diagnosis and treatment.
Apply Technical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in using laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate results and maintaining quality control standards.
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Analyse test results, identify abnormalities, and apply problem-solving strategies to assist in clinical decision-making.
Ensure Quality Assurance: Implement and adhere to laboratory safety protocols, quality control procedures, and ethical standards in medical practice.
Effective Communication: Collaborate with healthcare professionals and communicate findings clearly to ensure accurate patient care.
Research & Innovation: Engage in clinical research, contributing to advancements in laboratory techniques and healthcare outcomes.
