RADIOLOGICAL IMAGING

RADIOLOGICAL IMAGING

Radiological Imaging Technology focuses on the principles, techniques, and procedures used to create medical images essential for diagnosing a wide range of diseases. Radiologic technologists are skilled professionals trained in modalities such as ultrasound, X-rays, fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The programme also imparts comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, patient positioning, radiation safety, and image optimisation.

Radiologic technologists play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of diagnostic images, making them key contributors to patient care and timely diagnosis. Career opportunities include placements in hospital radiology departments, diagnostic imaging centres, mobile units, and field-based healthcare settings.

Clinical Observership & Skills Training

Students of Radiological Imaging Technology are provided structured observership experiences at Ziauddin Hospital. Under the mentorship of experienced radiologic technologists and supervisors, students gain valuable exposure to imaging environments, workflows, and safety protocols. Through real-time observation of procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, mammography, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound, students begin to build their clinical acumen and professional confidence.

Students observe real-time imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs in clinical settings. These observerships help them understand equipment handling, imaging protocols, and patient care—bridging theory and practice for future radiology careers.  Â
