DED WORKSHOPS 2024

CERTIFICATE COURSE IN HEALTH PROFESSION EDUCATION (CHPE 2024) BATCH-5 & 6

DED Highlights 2023

The Directorate of Educational Development (DED) supports Academic Excellence through the CHPE Program and Workshops for Capacity Building. Through a variety of effective programs and seminars, DED has been actively promoting academic excellence. The noteworthy highlights are as follows:

CHPE Program: From May 23 to May 31, 2023, the DED successfully organized the second contact period of the fourth blended learning certificate course in Health Profession Education (CHPE), demonstrating the institution’s dedication to providing high-quality education and training. The course was enhanced by the different perspectives and experiences of esteemed professors and specialists from prestigious universities. Participants acquired profound expertise in pedagogy through their comprehensive understanding and application of cutting-edge instructional methodologies, enabling them to significantly augment their knowledge base.

The Importance of CHPE: The DED recognizes the critical role that well-trained educators play in influencing the future of healthcare professionals, which is why it hosts the CHPE program. The involvement of outside attendees from other universities improved networking opportunities and promoted knowledge sharing between diverse institutions. The quality of healthcare education as a whole is likely to improve greatly as a result of this collaborative environment. Students presented their learnings at the program’s conclusion, demonstrating the breadth of knowledge acquired. Peers, resource people, the dean, and the director of DED all offered the presenters helpful criticism. Notably, the feedback session revealed a high demand for the Master’s in Health Profession Education (MHPE) program, highlighting the importance and applicability of postsecondary education in this area. The five-day workshop was educational.

Capacity Building Workshops: Recognizing the value of ongoing professional development, the DED hosted multidisciplinary Workshops for Building Capacity that were only open to ZU faculty. These courses focused on enhancing teaching and evaluation skills, giving faculty members a platform to improve their academic competence. These workshops promote teaching and learning at the institution as a whole by enhancing educators’ skills and capabilities.
