Master of Science in Nursing (2-Years)

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programme prepares nurse experts in education, advanced practice and/or management for leadership in nursing. The programme broadens the perspective of students by requiring them to take innovative interdisciplinary approaches to resolving healthcare problems and enhance nursing education. 

Mission

To prepare graduates for the professional role as nurse educator, researchers, nurse administrator or clinical nurse specialist and for providing quality care to the population at all levels of healthcare. 

Assessment Policies and Procedure

Admission Test

Ziauddin University Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery conducts a GAT Admission Test through University Examination Department for all eligible applicants.

Interviews

Applicant will be interviewed to assess their suitability to complete the concerned course and pursue a career in nursing services. Interview will be held at the Ziauddin Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery.

Application Selection

  • Candidates must possess a Post RN BSN/BSN (Generic) degree from an HEC & PNC recognised university.
  • GAT/NTS entry test with minimum cumulative score of 50%
  • Interviews of candidates shortlisted on the basis of performance in the entry test.
  • Final selection of candidates will be based on the previous academic record, experience, entry test, and interview.
  • Note: Applicant selection in Ziauddin Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery is strictly based on merit. 
  • RN & RM/one-year speciality with Post-RN BSN OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.00 scale in semester system or minimum first division in annual system in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an HEC-recognised university
  • Passing University’s entrance test or Valid NTS-GAT/GRE score
  • Passing University interview and research proposal submission
  • Valid PNC licence
  • Experience: 01 year experience as Post RN BSN or RN (excluding 01 year internship)

MSN graduates can pursue diverse leadership roles in academia, clinical practice, research, and healthcare administration. They can work as nurse educators, training future nurses in universities and colleges. As clinical nurse specialists, they can provide expert patient care in hospitals and specialised healthcare facilities. Graduates may also serve as nurse administrators, managing healthcare teams and influencing policy decisions. Opportunities in research organisations, healthcare consultancy, and government agencies allow them to contribute to evidence-based nursing practices. With advanced knowledge and leadership skills, they can shape the future of nursing through education, policymaking, and clinical excellence. 

Graduates of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programme at Ziauddin University will develop expertise in nursing education, advanced clinical practice, research, and healthcare management. They will acquire critical thinking and leadership skills to address complex healthcare challenges through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches. With a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, policymaking, and patient-centred care, they will be equipped to enhance healthcare delivery. All dues need to be cleared within two weeks of commencement of the academic year. A 2% surcharge per month will be levied on outstanding fees after the due date.
