The BS Molecular Medicine programme was launched in 2022 to meet the growing demand for specialised education in this field of medical research. This programme at Ziauddin University presents a distinctive opportunity for aspiring scientists to explore the future of healthcare. Recognised as “tomorrow’s medicine,” Molecular Medicine is an advancing field that focuses on comprehending diseases at a molecular and genetic level, revolutionising diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. This programme is designed to inspire and equip curious minds with both theoretical knowledge and practical research experience. By integrating diverse branches of medical sciences, this interdisciplinary course enables students to develop a thorough understanding of disease processes at the molecular level. This integrated approach fosters the creation of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, ensuring that our graduates remain at the forefront of medical progress. The curriculum covers essential topics in basic and pre-clinical sciences, including Molecular Genetics, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Pathology, Physiology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Biotechnology, Proteomics, Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cell Therapy, Molecular Pharmacology, and Bioinformatics. This comprehensive curriculum bridges the gap between fundamental science and clinical application, emphasising the close relationship between Molecular Medicine and broader medical fields. By choosing the BS in Molecular Medicine at Ziauddin University, students join a dynamic community committed to excellence in research and education. This programme not only offers a pathway to a fulfilling career but also empowers students to make significant contributions to global healthcare. Join us on this journey and become part of the next generation of pioneers in medical science research.
To produce scholars with in depth knowledge of molecular genetic mechanisms of the diseases for enhancement of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches relevant to patient care and research.
Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:
A combination of didactic and interactive lectures, group discussion, research projects, literature review, self-directed learning, written homework assignments, laboratory-based sessions, presentation-based learning, hands-on practice, site visits and discussion.
BS programme is divided into four academic years based on HEC guidelines.
