The second Clinical Trials Summit of Pakistan (CTSP) took place on 4th and 5th August 2026, and was a two-day conference held at National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Rawalpindi, and co-hosted by Aga Khan University (AKU), Karachi.
This conference brought together Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) leads, Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), representatives of ethics and regulatory bodies, and early-career researchers to discuss the future of clinical trials research in Pakistan.
The central theme of the conference was strengthening national collaboration to improve consistency, accessibility, and coordination across the country’s clinical research landscape. By building a more unified research ecosystem, Pakistan can become a trusted source of high-quality data for sponsors and expand opportunities to conduct clinical trials.
Representing CCRG, Dr. Arishay Hussaini and Dr. Timo Tolppa attended as invited speakers, delivering presentations on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in Pakistan. Dr. Hussaini highlighted the progress of the National PPIE Network and outlined the next steps towards strengthening regional partnerships and visibility. Dr. Tolppa’s focus was on the global perspective and impact of PPIE.
CCRG was pleased to contribute to these discussions and remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen the country’s clinical research capacity and foster meaningful national and international collaboration.
