Ziauddin University successfully hosted the face-to-face training of the Clinical Research During
Outbreaks (CREDO) programme from April 11 to 13, 2025, at Avari Towers, Karachi. This event
was part of a global initiative by the International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging
Infection Consortium (ISARIC) to build clinical research skills in low- and middle-income
countries, especially for responding to disease outbreaks. The training brought together
participants from across Pakistan and other countries in the region, creating a collaborative and
engaging learning environment.
The three-day workshop included interactive sessions, group activities, and presentations focused on key areas such as clinical research during epidemics, data management, research planning, and risk communication. These activities helped participants apply their knowledge to real-life situations, improving their ability to respond to future health emergencies. On the final day, the group visited Khoj Beach Resort, where they worked together to develop research plans in a calm and natural setting. This retreat allowed participants to reflect on their learning and strengthen teamwork.
