Students gain proficiency in both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures, such as Exercise Tolerance Tests and Cardiac Catheterisation (angiography and angioplasty). The field offers diverse educational and professional opportunities, working alongside interventional cardiologists, cardiologists, echocardiographers, and electrophysiologists. This dynamic profession equips students with advanced theoretical knowledge, specialised courses, and clinical training.
Clinical Practicum
Students in cardiovascular sciences undertake intensive clinical practicums at Dr Ziauddin Hospital, under the supervision of cardiac physicians and technologists. They apply their understanding of cardiovascular principles in procedures such as cardiac catheterisation, echocardiography, and monitoring of cardiac devices. These hands-on trainings, conducted after each semester’s examination, ensure students are well-prepared for the various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures required in this field.
