Keeping in view the growing demand and job opportunities at national and international level Ziauddin University has decided to undertake this noble task of offering a two year Pharmacy Technician Course. In this two year diploma course, students are required to study and have training in the subjects of pharmaceutics, hospital pharmacy, dispensing pharmacy, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pharnmacognosy, microbiology and biochemistry.
Pharmacy Technician Programme (B Category)
Matriculation Examination (Secondary School Certificate Examination) with Science.
Pharmacy Technicians can work in a variety of locations, usually in community, retail and hospital pharmacies but also sometimes in long term care facilities as well as with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors or in government or teaching hospital facilities.
Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician Program (B Category) will develop essential knowledge and practical skills in pharmaceutics, hospital pharmacy, dispensing pharmacy, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, microbiology, and biochemistry. They will be trained to accurately dispense medications, manage pharmaceutical inventory, and assist pharmacists in ensuring patient safety and effective drug administration. Through hands-on experience in hospital and retail pharmacy settings, they will gain proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations, prescription handling, and patient counseling. Additionally, they will develop a strong understanding of regulatory standards and ethical practices, preparing them for diverse roles in healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry.
