The College of Molecular Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Research, Ziauddin University, successfully organized a two-week Orientation Internship Program in Molecular Medicine (Step into the World of Tomorrow’s Medicine) from 18th to 29th August 2025 at the Multi-Disciplinary Research Laboratories (MDRL 1,2,3). The program was led by Ms. Saba Farooq and facilitated by esteemed faculty including Prof. Dr. Talat Mirza ( Program director) , Dr. Rehan Imad, Dr. Shumaila Usman, Dr. Rehan Imad, Dr. Aisha Ishaque, Dr. Ambrina Khatoon, Moazzam Ali Shahid, Fariha Anum, Urfa Kayani, and Laiba Jawed.
Participants from diverse academic backgrounds and levels were introduced to the fundamentals of molecular medicine through lectures, discussions, and hands-on training. Key modules covered Cell & Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics & Biotechnology, Research Methodology, and laboratory techniques such as DNA/RNA Extraction, PCR, and Gel Electrophoresis. The program provided valuable exposure to modern research practices, strengthened analytical and laboratory skills, and enhanced awareness of career opportunities in molecular medicine. Certificates of completion were awarded to participants in recognition of their active engagement to explore recent advances in Medicine.
