Livestock Assistant Diploma (LAD) 2-years Program

The primary goal of a Livestock Assistant is to provide organized technical and skilled services of modern animal husbandry studies and techniques that help in improving the productivity of domestic livestock. In addition, these services ensure a sustainable livelihood and provide a route toward poverty alleviation, particularly in rural areas. Livestock Assistant Diploma at Ziauddin University is a 2-year program that would professionally train students for assisting Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) graduates at veterinary hospitals, dispensaries, livestock farms, and fields. Moreover, it would ensure to provide of technical skills for advising farmers on livestock management and hygiene practices, also efficiently handling major/minor livestock-related cases.

Further, the aim of the diploma includes teaching technical skills that would enable students with the services of analyzing signs of diseases and providing required treatment to sick or infected animals. To assist progressive farmers in improving the reproductive health of their animals. Helps in seasonal vaccinations against major animal diseases. Moreover, collection and analysis of blood, milk and fecal samples for proper laboratory diagnosis and improvement of animal health.

Assist and advice progressive farmers to improve reproductive health by artificial insemination. Provide suggestions regarding seasonal vaccinations against diseases. Moreover, collect and analyze blood, milk and fecal samples for proper laboratory diagnosis. Performing deworming against ecto and endo parasites, and assist in animal ration preparation for better health and productivity of livestock animals. Educate and initiate awareness programs for locals on efficient animal breeding, feeding, disease control, management, marketing and conduct basic data collection in the field. Enhance employment opportunities as clinicians, livestock managers and work as independent livestock assistants at both national and international levels. Previously, this university has announced the admission of many engineering fields but this time they announced the admission of livestock assistant diploma. This university is best for this field because we have the small practice hospital for the students of animal sciences.

Facilities at Campus

Laboratories setup is available in various disciplines of animal health and production sciences. Microbiological, parasitological, pharmacological and physiological facilities are available at the Faculty of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. Additionally, Veterinary Clinics as well as birds and farm animals also available for learning purpose.

  • HSC/FSC (Pre-Medical) held by a recognized Board of Intermediate Education in Pakistan or O/A Level (Subject to Equivalency) for Doctor of Veterinary Program.
  • Applications from overseas candidates are also invited.
  • Students awaiting results of Board of Intermediate O/ A-level Examinations are also eligible to apply. However they have to submit the relevant within 90 Days.
  • For LAD/AIT programs candidates having FSC (Pre-Medical) are eligible.
