The Bachelor of Eastern Medicine & Surgery (BEMS) at Ziauddin University is a five-year degree programme designed to integrate traditional healing practices with modern scientific knowledge. Rooted in centuries-old wisdom, Eastern Medicine focuses on a holistic approach to health, balancing the mind, body, and environment.

Our curriculum combines herbal medicine, regimental therapies, clinical diagnostics, and research methodologies, equipping students with the expertise to prevent and treat diseases naturally. With multidisciplinary clinical training, students gain hands-on experience in evidence-based Eastern Medicine practices, ensuring competency in holistic patient care.

Accredited by the National Council for Tibb (NCT) and recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of Health, our programme emphasises innovation, research, and ethical medical practice. Graduates can pursue careers in clinical practice, academia, research, and the herbal medicine industry, making a meaningful impact on healthcare locally and globally.

Intermediate Science (Pre-Medical), A level Biology OR Equivalent Qualification from a Recognised Institution

Graduates of the Bachelor of Eastern Medicine (BEM) programme will develop a deep understanding of traditional healing practices, herbal medicine, and natural therapies. They will acquire expertise in diagnosing and treating ailments using Eastern medical techniques, integrating knowledge of phytotherapy, acupuncture, cupping therapy, and holistic wellness. The programme emphasises scientific research, ethical practice, and patient-centred care, ensuring graduates can apply traditional medicine in a modern healthcare setting. Students will also gain skills in preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, and lifestyle management, enabling them to promote well-being and address chronic illnesses using evidence-based Eastern medicinal approaches.
