Doctor of Physical Therapy

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a five-year semester-based graduate degree programme recognised by HEC. It is offered concurrently at three distinct locations: Karachi Campus (North site, Boat Basin site, and Education City site).
Mission

To serve mankind, we aim to prepare graduates of Doctor of Physical Therapy as professionals committed to excellence in patient care, equipped with innovative approaches compatible with the evolution of the health profession. These physiotherapy practitioners will be the future leaders in their field, practicing autonomously with an ethical approach, supported by research, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

Higher Secondary School Certificate (involving 12 years of schooling) or an IBCC equivalent qualification in any science group with any of the subject i.e, (Biology/ Physics/Chemistry/Anatomy/Physiology/Physiotherapy) with at least 60% cumulative score. Students from overseas, as well as those awaiting the results of their Board of Intermediate or A- level Examinations, are also eligible to apply.

Student Selection

Final selection of students is decided on the basis of their performance in the following:

  • Secondary School Certificate
  • Higher Secondary Certificate
  • Ziauddin University Test
  • Interview
Aptitude Test
The university conducts an Aptitude Test for all eligible candidates. The test consists of Multiple Choice Questions of various types. The test comprises four to five sections designed to assess each applicant’s performance in the areas provided in sample paper.
Interview

Applicants are interviewed to assess their suitability to complete the respective course and pursue a career in health sciences. 

Notification Of Admission

University will inform successful applicants and a deadline will be given for the confirmation of admission. Offers not accepted by the given deadline will be cancelled.

Graduates of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program have diverse career opportunities in healthcare, academia, research, and rehabilitation services. They can work in government and private hospitals, rehabilitation centers, sports medicine clinics, community health settings, and home healthcare services. DPT professionals may specialize in areas such as musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatric, cardiopulmonary, sports, geriatric, and women's health rehabilitation.

Career pathways also include teaching, clinical research, healthcare administration, private practice, and entrepreneurship. With postgraduate education and professional certifications, graduates can further enhance their expertise and pursue national and international career opportunities.
