ZU Sports Department Hosts Successful Badminton Championship 2024
The ZU Sports Department organised a thrilling ZU Boys & Girls Badminton Championship 2024, which concluded with great success. The event saw enthusiastic participation from boys and girls from 12 different departments, showcasing their skills and talent in the sport.
In the boys’ category, Mohammad Hamza emerged as the winner, while Mohammad Saad Khan was the runner-up, with both titles going to the Department of ZUFESTM. In the girls’ category, Mariyum Hayaat from Clinical Physiology clinched the winner’s title, while Fabiha from M.T was the runner-up.
The championship was a marvellous event throughout, with exciting matches and a lively atmosphere. The efforts of ZU Sports Department were evident in the seamless organisation and execution of the event.
A successful 1.5-day intensive training programme was conducted by the College of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, in collaboration with the Faculty of Health Sciences. The training aimed to equip teachers from various schools with a comprehensive understanding of speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, remedial therapy, and special education. By highlighting the significance of these fields, the programme aimed to foster a greater appreciation for their role in supporting student development and well-being.

Ziauddin University is set to organise the PPIE Summit as part of its Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) initiative at the Clifton Campus on August 17, 2024. This innovative event aims to enhance the role of patients and the public in research. The summit will include insightful sessions on the significance of patient voices, ethical considerations in public engagement, and experiences from both Pakistan and the UK. Esteemed speakers such as Adnan Masood, Dr. Rakhshi Memon, Qudsia Hassan and Dr. Ashleigh Cheyne will offer valuable perspectives. There will be a dynamic panel discussion addressing the ethical challenges of public engagement.
