One-Day Hands-On Workshop on “Cell Culture Applications: From Bench to Bedside”

The College of Molecular Medicine and Department of Research, conducted a one-day hands-
on workshop titled “Cell Culture Applications: From Bench to Bedside” on 24 April 2025 at the
Clifton Campus of Ziauddin University. The event was coordinated by Dr. Rehan Imad and was
attended by 20 registered participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

Educational Visit to Darulsukun

On Wednesday, 23rd April, an educational visit was organised by the College of Human Nutrition and Dietetics for 3rd-year BS HND students to Dar-ul-Sukoon.

The visit provided a meaningful opportunity for students to engage with individuals with special needs and witness the critical role of nutrition, care, and emotional support in long-term residential settings. It was an inspiring experience that reinforced the importance of empathy and professional responsibility in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

Visit to Pakistan International Airlines Food Service Facility

“The College of Human Nutrition and Dietetics organised an insightful educational visit for final-year students to the Pakistan International Airlines Food Service Facility on Tuesday 22nd April. This visit aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical exposure in the field of institutional food service management.

During the tour, students observed various aspects of the facility’s operations, including large-scale meal planning, food production, quality control, and logistics management. The visit also provided valuable insights into the application of food safety standards, inventory systems, and the challenges of catering to a high-volume clientele.

This hands-on experience not only enriched students’ understanding of food service systems but also highlighted the crucial role of dietitians and nutrition professionals at a commercial level. 

Convocation 2025

At the Ziauddin University’s Convocation 2025, degrees were proudly conferred upon graduates from a diverse range of disciplines, including Medicine, Dental Surgery, Pharm.D, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Education Health and Sports Science, Medical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Management & Technology, Data Science, Communication & Media Studies, Digital Media Marketing, Audiology & Speech Language Therapy, Nursing (BSN and Post-RN BScN), Law, Clinical Psychology, English Studies, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Eastern Medicine & Surgery, B.Ed (Hons) Elementary. Kangroo Care

Ziauddin University is proud to have partnered with the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL) and Dr. Aijaz Fatima Women & Child Center for a training session on Kangaroo Care and a stakeholder discussion on community-based priorities, held on April 12th, 2025, as part of The Baby Matters Conference.

Led by international expert Dr. Jessica Gordon, the session gathered pediatricians, gynecologists, mental health and public health professionals – all dedicated to advancing Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health in Pakistan.

Clinical Research During Outbreaks (CREDO)

Ziauddin University successfully hosted the face-to-face training of the Clinical Research During
Outbreaks (CREDO) programme from April 11 to 13, 2025, at Avari Towers, Karachi. This event
was part of a global initiative by the International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging
Infection Consortium (ISARIC) to build clinical research skills in low- and middle-income
countries, especially for responding to disease outbreaks. The training brought together
participants from across Pakistan and other countries in the region, creating a collaborative and
engaging learning environment.

Three-day Audiology Workshop

Ziauddin University’s College of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences successfully concluded Audiology Workshop, offering intensive training through expert-led sessions and hands-on practice. Participants explored key audiology domains, including diagnostics, pediatric audiology, and hearing aid fittings. The workshop enhanced clinical competencies and fostered professional growth among students and practitioners alike.

The ZU Sports Department successfully hosted the ZU Night Ramazan Championship 2025, bringing together 12 departments in a thrilling display of sportsmanship and competitive spirit.
