Careerthon 2025

Careerthon 2025 was a successful event held today at Ziauddin University. Organised by the College of Occupational Therapy, it connected students with industry experts and explored new career opportunities in the field of rehabilitation and therapy.

On 31st July, the students of DPT 3rd Year at Ziauddin College of Physical Therapy, Ziauddin University – Sukkur Campus, brought the spirit of Pakistan alive through an extraordinary Culture Fest—a celebration filled with colours, traditions, and pride.

ZU Boys Futsal Championship 2025

The ZU Sports Department successfully hosted the ZU Boys Futsal Championship 2025 on July 26–27, concluding the event with tremendous enthusiasm and excitement. 10 departments took part, each showcasing impressive skill, teamwork, and passion for the game.

Poster Competition at APMF

Summer Internship Programme – 2025 – “Life at the Bench”

The College of Molecular Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Research at Ziauddin University, successfully conducted the four-week Summer Internship Programme – 2025 starting from 1st July, 2025 at Multidisciplinary Labs, Clifton campus. The programme was led organized and coordinated by Ms. Saba Farooq and was supervised by Prof. Dr. Talat Mirza, Executive Director Research – FHS & Principal Molecular Medicine, who introduced the key objectives and focused areas of the internship, emphasising the importance of hands-on research training in molecular and genetic techniques. A total of 28 participants attended the programme, which covered research methodology, scientific writing, statistical analysis, molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR), cell and tissue culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, bioinformatics, proteomics and neurosciences. Sessions were facilitated by highly experienced PhD faculty members, including Dr. Shumaila Usman, Dr. Ambrina Khatoon, Dr. Abdul Hameed, Dr. Rehan Imad, Dr. Aisha Ishaque, and others. The internship brought together a diverse group of participants from A-levels, undergraduate, and postgraduate backgrounds, representing several reputable institutions both from Karachi and other cities. This mix of educational levels added a rich layer of academic diversity and collaborative learning to the sessions. Many students expressed interest in continuing their research journey and appreciated the opportunity to gain early exposure to molecular lab practices and advanced techniques.

Transforming Maternal and Neonatal Health: Best Practices and Innovations

On July 25, 2024, Ziauddin University hosted a seminar titled “Transforming Maternal and Neonatal Health: Best Practices and Innovations”. The seminar brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers to discuss the latest advancements and effective strategies in maternal and neonatal care. Topics included innovative clinical practices, technology integration, and community-based interventions aimed at improving health outcomes for mothers and newborns. 

Awareness session on Thalassaemia

Ziauddin University’s College of Public Health, in collaboration with Kashif Iqbal Thalassaemia Care Centre (KITCC)
and the Office of Student Affairs, successfully organised a blood donation camp on 27th June 2025
aimed at supporting children battling Thalassaemia.

Guest speaker session on the Evolution and Spread of the Health System in Sindh

Ziauddin University remains steadfast in its commitment to knowledge exchange and public health advancement. On 19 July 2025, we hosted a thought-provoking guest speaker session on the Evolution and Spread of the Health System in Sindh with experts Dr. Suleman Otho and Dr. Saqib Sheikh. Their insights, coupled with faculty engagement, sparked meaningful dialogue on maternal, child, and community health—empowering future healthcare leaders.
