ZU Startup selected for Pakistan 100 Boot Camp.
Dr. Kiran Hashmi has been selected among top 13 startups in Pakistan 100 Boot Camp 2021 organized by IdeaGIST Global. Dr. Kiran Hashmi idea has received good scores from the panel of judges in pre-selection interview sessions. A total of only 13 teams have successfully selected from Pakistan for the final stage.
The Boot camp was a new and unique learning experience. Stepping into the shoes of an entrepreneur and thinking like a business graduate were not easy tasks; they were in fact, a roller coaster ride with many highs and some lows throughout the journey. I, still managed to sail through and cleared the course with flying colors. Dr.Kiran Hashmi idea was selected for the One-Minute Idea Show, and will also be presented for an elevated pitch later in the year.
Ziauddin University Becomes Part of NIHR Funded Oxford University.
Ziauddin University Becomes Part of NIHR Funded Oxford University Project “African critical care registry network for pandemic surveillance, clinical management and research (CRIT Care Africa)” Dr Madiha Hashmi’s efforts for bringing these global collaborations to ZU are highly laudable and continuous support from University Leadership is greatly appreciated.
Bringing together the expertise of researchers and clinicians based across low- and middle-income countries and partners from established critical care and pandemic networks internationally, this project aims to address the knowledge gaps that exist in the natural history and clinical course of COVID-19 related critical illness in Africa. Knowledge gaps and underlying operational gaps will be identified by implementing a setting-adapted registry for service evaluation and pandemic research in seven countries across Africa. Leveraging the registry data, and led by healthcare stakeholders, the researchers will identify priorities for improving processes of care for the sickest patients. Once established, the same registry platform will support trials to identify strategies for optimal supportive care and interventions in the management of critically ill patients. “Without data we cannot engage in research, and without research we have no voice.” Prof Madiha Hashmi, co-investigator, Ziauddin University, Pakistan
