Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences Commencement Day 2023

On 3^rd January 2023, Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation sciences organized the Commencement day for the newly enrolled batches of the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy and Bachelors of Health Education and Sports Sciences Program at the Abul Hasan Jaffery Auditorium, Ziauddin University, Clifton. The commencement day began with the recitation of the holy Quran after which the audience rose to pay their respect for the national anthem and Ziauddin University’s anthem. Moreover, a virtual tour of the campus life at all three locations of ZCRS was also displayed to increase the excitement and enthusiasm of the newly inducted students.

On this occasion, the Registrar of Ziauddin University Captain Waqar Hussain addressed the audience and congratulated the newly inducted students. Furthermore, the Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Dr. Abbas Zafar spoke to the students, congratulated them for choosing the College of Rehabilitation sciences for their undergraduate programs and also appreciated the endless efforts of the Principal of the College and HOD of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program Prof. Dr. Sumaira Imran Farooqui for the efficient expansion of the college. Prof. Dr. Sumaira Imran Farooqui, principal of ZCRS also congratulated the students for being successfully enrolled in their respective programs and while addressing to the students she also enlightened them regarding the academic and professional training being offered by the college in addition to high quality of education being provided which is recognized by the Universities of the UK, USA and Canada. Furthermore, the Honorable Vice chancellor Dr. Irfan Hyder also spoke to the audience and mentioned about the legacy of the Ziauddin Group of hospitals with the Vision of spreading the light of education to form a community of young leaders and healthcare professionals, moreover, Dr. Irfan also shared some pearls of wisdom and advised the youth regarding the significance of the new journey which they are about to embark. The respected Pro-Chancellor Dr. Nida Hussain while addressing the students encouraged them to broaden their horizon to become intellectually well aware and find innovative means to access knowledge but to also sit back and enjoy their undergraduate years and make memories.

Following the addresses by the respected dignitaries, group photos were taken with the faculty members and the new batches of DPT, DOT and BPEHSS of all three locations of ZCRS i.e. North, Link road and Boat Basin. Lastly, the Principal Prof. Dr. Sumaira also gave brief introductions of the faculty and non-teaching staff of the College to familiarize the students regarding the Staff members and their teachers. In addition, the examination heads of the college Ms. Zulekha Saleem and Mr. Ahad Hasan briefed the students regarding the examination and academic policies of the college, eligibility criteria while, the Representative of the Quality Assurance Cell of ZU highlighted the policies that ensure the smooth conductance of college activities. Finally, the representative of the ZU IT department familiarized the students regarding the individual student Portal and the representative of the Office of Student Affairs while addressing the students mentioned the co-curricular activities and events that will be accessible to the students and managed throughout their undergraduate years to release their stress and provide them with a temporary getaway. To conclude the session, students were presented with refreshment boxes and the commencement day ended on a positive note.
